construction setout

Prior to beginning construction of a new building, road or other structure your builder will likely require a surveyor to mark the position of the proposed works. In most cases it will also be a condition of your Council approval that this is done. Most construction setouts will involve;

  • Pre-calculation of the works to be set out based on your architect's drawings, QA checks to ensure all the required information is included and that the approved boundary setbacks are achievable;

  • Determination of the site boundary positions;

  • Placement of setout marks at positions agreed on with your site foreman or construction supervisor;

  • Placement of site benchmarks if required;

  • Preparation of a sketch showing the marks placed endorsed by a Registered Surveyor.

At TSD Consulting we understand that once the marks are in the ground your builder will be keen to make a start and as such we will always endevour to have a setout sketch to you on the day the work was completed or in the worst case on the following business day.
